NPWS walking track temporary closures

The National Parks and Wildlife Service – NPWS advise many walking tracks, roads and fire trails within Blue Mountains National Park remain closed following sustained wet weather, subsequent geological instability or infrastructure upgrades. ON THIS page we list temporary closures.

Please check which areas are closed before travelling.


Friday 24 June 2022
TEMPORARY CLOSURE – some Blackheath area tracks – Blue Mountains National Park

In addition to the closures due to sustained wet weather and subsequent geological instability, the following walking tracks will be closed in full on Friday 24 June 2022 (NOT Thursday as previously advised)

  • Fairfax Heritage track
  • Popes Glen track
