Named after Eric Sydney Spooner (1891 1952), Minister for Local Government. Spooner opened the first section of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk on the 20th October 1934.
“Honeymoon Bridge connects the Giant Stairway to a cave in the first of The Three Sisters, Katoomba. So named as the cave in The Three Sisters has been referred to as the Honeymoon Cave. The cave or overhang has also been called Honeymoon Lookout, Lovers Retreat, The Three Sisters Lookout, Spooners Cave and Echo Point Lookout.”
