Autumn Open Gardens in the Blue Mountains

In Autumn the Blue Mountains of New South Wales are ablaze with colour. During Autumn there are many amazing open gardens you can visit to enjoy the colours.


Windyridge Garden

Open every day 9am to 4.30pm. Please ring to check opening days any time of the year.

Entry: Adult $10, Child under 12 yrs $3 Inc. tea /coffee and biscuits. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the gardens.

Yengo Sculpture Gardens

Open every weekend Autumn and Spring or by appointment for groups, weekends or week days (groups of 7+), 10am to 5pm. Entry: Adult $10, Child under 10yrs $3. Coach groups (10+) welcome by appointment. Sculptures in the gardens are for sale.

Breenhold Gardens

Open daily and weekends from Saturday 9 April to Sunday 28 May 2022, 10am to 4pm.

Entry: Adult $15, Children 5yrs and over $5, Children under 5 years old FREE, Family rate for 2 adults and 3 or more children $40.  EFTPOS preferred. Dogs on leads, coach groups and weddings welcome.

Entry: Adult $10, Child $2 (under 16yrs, over 5 yrs). Feel free to picnic in the Garden. Dogs on a leash also welcome. Open for groups any time by appointment.

Edible Garden Trail – Blaxland to Hartley.

Edible gardens, large and small, from Blaxland to Hartley will open to the public to inspire sustainability and self-reliance. Time: 10am to 4pm.

Entry: $25 Adult, $20 Concession. Tickets can be purchased online or at various outlets, see website for details.

Everglades Historic House & Gardens

Open Wednesday to Monday 10am – 4pm. Last entry 3pm.

Entry: Adult $15, Concession $10, Family $35, Child under 5 years free. National Trust Members free. To ensure we can manage timed entry and safe physical distancing, we are asking visitors to pre-purchase tickets via Eventbrite. Booking fees will apply.

Leuralla Toy and Railway Museum

Open daily, 10am – 5pm.

Entry: $15 Adult, $5 Child for access to the House, Garden and Museum. The 5 hectares of beautiful temperate gardens offer mature trees, cool walkways and seasonal underplantings that reflect the seasonal changes. The Historic House, built in 1912 is in original condition, a rare example of decorative arts and furnishings of this period.

Exhibits of the important toys, games, models and books of the 20th Century add to the visit. Currently the House & Gardens are open for your enjoyment, as well as the train museum and railway displays in the gardens. Common sense social distancing and responsible hygienic measures are practised at this time.

The Campbell Rhododendron Gardens

Bacchante St, Blackheath – Here:

Open to walk in any time, all year around. Entrance Gates to car park open 9am daily and close promptly 6pm in summer and 4pm in winter. Deciduous trees have been planted throughout the Campbell Rhododendron Gardens 18.3 hectares, and in autumn, the Gardens’ Maple Grove is a wonderland of glowing yellowed and russet leaves.

Entry: $5 donation per person. There are wheelchair accessible paths to the Lookout over the Gardens, and to the toilets.

The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Bells Line Rd, Mt Tomah


Open daily, 9am to 5pm. The Visitor Centre is open 7 days a week from 9.30am to 5pm. – Cool-climate plants from around the world with seasonal events and tours.

Garden/Nursery Open daily. Prime viewing time for Autumn in the Garden is from 1 March to 29 May 2022, 9am – 5pm (or Sunset and Early Morning tours by appointment).

Highfield Gardens

Open on the following weekends: 12 & 13 Feb, 19 & 20 Feb, and part of the Central Tablelands Garden Trail 5 & 6 March 2022.  Time 10am – 5pm.

Entry: $15, Children under 16 free however must be supervised by an adult at all times. Self-serve Tea/Coffee with package sweet treat available free. Gardens have spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding valley. Rare plants for sale grown in the gardens. Some disability access to the gardens in areas that are gravel and lawns. Please note this garden isn’t suitable for small children due to water features. Group discounts and free guided tour available for groups 20+.
