The House of Wool, a great yarn shop

By | July 19, 2020

It is hard to find a good yarn shop nowadays, but from the moment you walk upstairs and enter The House of Wool, you will agree that the search is over. From one shelf to the next, the colours and textures of the yarns will take you on an inspirational journey.

House of Wool, Leura

The House of Wool is a hidden retreat for yarn-lovers. Owned by sisters Nicole and Rachael and with the assistance of Donna, The House of Wool has become well known for the exceptional hand dyed yarns that you will find there.

The House of Wool proudly stock their own hand dyed and hand spun yarns. Alongside these are Australian yarns such as Heirloom’s Merino Magic, Alpaca, and Cotton. Proving popular this winter is Patons Jet, a wool and alpaca blend. Not to be outdone, Bambini 4 and 8 are quality spun Merino yarns that are perfect for your next woolly project. Perendale – an 8ply yarn by Shepherd is 100% New Zealand wool. Spinners and felters don’t miss out either, with a colourful selection of extra-fine Merino tops, hand dyed tops, silk and mohair curls on offer.

Knitting needles, crochet hooks, stitch markers, cables, buttons and patterns provide the final touches for all your needs.

Knitting, crochet and spinning workshops are held on a regular basis. At the moment, we are offering individual workshops on Saturdays. If interested, call 0474 439 759 or email woolshop@outlook.com to make enquiries.

Open Thursdays to Mondays, you will definitely find that special skein that is calling your name. The only problem you will have is choosing which yarn to leave behind!
