The Eat Blue Mountains food tour visits local food businesses to sample the produce, talk to the producers and buy directly from them if you wish to. A delicious lunch is provided featuring goodies from the businesses visited, as well as other delicious Blue Mountains produce.
Our tour was guided by Murray Wilson the CEO (Chief Eating Officer) and we visited the foodie places.
Daniel Bucca’s Herbs Of Life, in Lawson, specialises in supplying organic or wild crafted herbs and spices and herbal tea blends and producing organic gluten free vegan snacks and organic raw kombucha, a delicious natural fermented tea beverage containing live enzymes and probiotics aimed at improving digestion and health.
Josophan’s Chocolates, in Leura, handcrafts extraordinary chocolates, using Fair Trade certified chocolate and fresh natural flavour infusions with no preservatives or artificial flavours. The crafting process was explained in the boutique’s laboratory. Roz can highly recommend the Tahitian vanilla bean, the café noir, the Mayan chilli and … well, pretty much all of them!
A relaxed al fresco lunch was enjoyed at Sid Stolk’s kitchen in Katoomba. Luscious Gourmet Vegetarian Catering provides delicious quality organic vegetarian food for weddings, conferences, retreats and parties. The philosophy of Lushious is that good food should be healthy, a pleasure to eat and most importantly, taste good.
After lunch, a visit to Leura Cellars for a cider tasting was in order. The Hillbilly vintage apple and pear ciders were delicious and the Small Acres – Cat’s Pyjamas cider was sensational. Some wonderful apple cider liqueurs were also enjoyed and purchases for food tourists were at special prices.
“Mountain High Pies”, in Wentworth Falls, provided a scrumptious selection of sweet pies and tarts enjoyed with hot chocolate, tea or freshly roasted coffee as well as an informative tour of the kitchen before Roz and her friends boarded the bus with more samples of wonderful pies.
Eat Blue Mountains food tours are simply wonderful! If you have the opportunity to take one do it, you and your taste buds won’t be disappointed.
